Whiteshell Bay

The Story

Whiteshell Bay takes its identity from the strength and rhythm of its timber frame, allowing the structure itself to become a defining part of the design. The scale, variation and character of the beams and trusses give the timbers a personality of their own, while expansive windows create contrast through openness and uninterrupted views to the lake. Spaces for entertaining are woven throughout the cottage, giving the architecture a social quality that feels equally suited to lively weekends and quieter time at the lake. Rather than relying on ornamentation, the character of the project comes from its architecture: expressive, substantial and distinctly rooted in the tradition of lakeside building in the Whiteshell.
