West Hawk

The Story

Set into a steeply sloping site, the design uses the change in grade to create a layered relationship between architecture, landscape and lake. Designed by Mo Hykaway, with interiors by Dlux Design Co., the cottage unfolds vertically, allowing each level to respond to the terrain while supporting the needs of multigenerational living. Shared spaces encourage time together, while the layered layout also creates opportunities for privacy and retreat. Timber detailing gives the upper level a strong sense of structure, while the lower portions feel increasingly embedded into the site as they move toward the shoreline, creating a natural progression from arrival to water’s edge.
